This city is a flat city surrounded by large mountains on all four sides located south of the mahabharat mountains and north of the chure hills.This city is also the headquarters of makawanpur district.This city is also the capital of the bagmati province of of nepal.The headquarters of makawanpur district was priviously located in bhimphedi. After that in bikram sambat 2039 the district offices near that settlenent were suddenly shifted to hetauda city due to various reasons.Buddha chowk in this city is the main intersection between the tribhuvan highway ,kanti highway and mahendra highway and is also the main junction of hetauda city.The roads leading to the capital of nepal diverge from buddha chowk.Nepal’s major industries have been established in this city.Therefore this city has become a place of residence for the people of nepal.Many small and large industries are operating in this city.Industries have been operating in hetauda city since bikram sambat 2020 to provide livelihood to the residents.After many industries were established this city was declared the largest industrial zone in nepal.Accordingly 102 industries were operating in this industrial zone.According to the locals it is said that the king birendra inaugurated the hetauda cement industry in bikram sambat 2042.Due to the establishment of that large industry hetauda city became famous throughout nepal.The establishment of these industries has become a means of livelihood for the residents of this city.In hetauda market the city can be seen beautifying itself by planting trees on both sides of the road.Planting these trees helps on making hetauda city a greener city.Due to excessive pollution the use of plastic bags has been banned in hetauda city.Because the use of plastic is very harmful to our lives.In the center of hetauda city is buddha chowk which is the focal point of the market.
Friends how did this city get its name hetauda?There is a story about this.Hetauda city is named after the goddess known as hidimba.The temple of bhutan devi goddess in hetauda city is aslo known as hidimba devi.This temple was built in the name of bhutan devi.This temple is a hindu temple.mostely hindus devotees can be seen here.Hidimba or bhutan devi is the wife of bhima or one of the pandavas.Hidimba is also known as the mother of ghatotakach the main hero of the kurukshetra war. Thus it is said that the city of hetauda is named after this goddess hidimba.It is said that the bhutan devi was called hidimba hence the name of the city of hetauda was gradually got corrupted from the word hidimba to hetauda.Looking at the mythological history hetauda city can be seen to be connected with legends based on the mahabharat. After the construction of the tribhuvan highway a wave of development began to move forward in hetauda city.That road was able to bring the capital of the country closer.Then in bikram samvat 2026 hetauda city was declared a municipality.After that a ware of developnent began to move forward in that city.Hetaida city is also an important commercial center and main transport terminal of nepal.Mahendra highway and tribhuvan highway meet in this city and reach its destinations.Three highways leading to the capital of nepal diverge from buddha chowk the main station of hetauda.The main highway is the main route from hetauda to kathmandu via chitwan. The total length of this route from hetauda to kathmandu is 220 kilometers.This route is the easiest way to reach kathmandu city.This route is the longest and easiest.The another route is the tribhuvan highway.This route is among the shortest routes.The length of this route from hetauda to kathmandu is about 80 kilometers.Similarly another route to the capital is the kanti highway.Althouth this highway is second shorts vehicles do not travel much on this route but it is also the oldest route.The length of this kanti highway from hetauda to kathmandu is about 92 kilometers.It is easy to come and go to the capital from these highways.Residents of the other places have also started paying attention to hetauda city. The reason is that people from outside have started paying attention to this city due to the expressway and tunnel being built near the city.
There are many places worth visiting for tourists in hetauda city.Among them are bhutan devi temple, pathibhara temple,hetauda martyrs memorial park and other etc.First of all to describe the bhutan devi temple in hetauda city.Bhutan devi temple is the main tourist attraction of hetauda city.Today bhutan devi temple in hetauda city has become a major tourist attraction.Bhutan devi temple is located in a peaceful environment on a hill in hetauda ward no.10.This bhutan devi temple is built in the pagoda style.According to architecture scripture goddess bhutan devi is worshipped as another incarnation of welthy power or goddess durga.On the 9th day of dashain festival a mass wordhip is performed here by devotees.Hindhu devotees believe that visiting this temple gains relief from sorrow, peace,prosperity and fear in the family.Bhutan devi temple is a religious and tourist attraction in hetauda.Bhutan devi temple can be called a famous and powerful goddess.The number of devotees who come to worship in this religious area can also be seen in large numbers.Along with the development of tourism in the in the country a lot of development has been seen in this religious area in recent times.It can be said that hetauda sub-metropolitan city has helped in the development of the religious area and the expansion of tourism here.It is believed that a big battle took place here between the the pandavas and a demon named hidambasur during the mahabharata war.There is also a legend that himsena has killed the demon named hidambasur in that mahabharata war.Thus in all the religious areas of nepal it can be seen in the scriptures that there is a war between gods and demons.From a religious point of view bhuttan devi goddess power is worshipped in this temple especially during dasain festival.Talking about the history of this temple it is believed that in the year of bikram sambat 1860 granis built a small temple of bhutan devi and worshipped it.After that gradually the influence of the power of this goddess bhutan devi increased the faith of the devotees and bhutan devi temple became popular.
There is a legend related to goddess bhutan devi.Because of that legend this goddess bhutan devi has become closer to the devotees.In bikram sambat 1903 jung bahadur took his soldiers for hunting and they recently reached the place where the bhutan devi temple is located.When he went hunting he used to hunt in the vicinity of the temple of bhutan devi.He had spent many days hunting in that area.In this process suddenly one days his soldiers disappeared.After the soldiers disappeared many methods were adopted to find his soldiers.To find his missing soldiers jung bahadur vowed to built a temple to the goddess bhutan devi.After promising to built such a temple his missing soldiers reapoeared before him. Therefore since that time there is a legend that is has been a practice for devotees to visit this temple.At that time the chief of chisapani region organized the annual visasaya worship and seventh sacrifices offering from the government fund. Along with the daily worship of goddess bhagawoti, aarati worship is also performed in this temple.As part of the annual worship in rhe temple special worship of goddess bhagawoti is performed here for ten days during the dasain festival. Similarly in this temple on the last saturday of the month of chaitra there is a system of offering one hundred and twenty-eight multy-birds sacrifices.Earlier there was a practice of offering sacrifices only according to the order of the goddess inside this temple but now the practice of offering sacrifices inside the temple has been removed. because it is not good to reduce heinous incident like violence to the religious aphere.It is said that in the early days the construction of this temple started with small pieces of wood.Currently this temple can be seen being built in a grand manner. The construction of this temple was completed in bikram sambat 2060 according to popular belief.Most temples in nepal are originally made of wood when begin.This temple has a two-story roof and another door can also be seen inside the temple. Upon entering the temple you can see the beautiful 18-foot-tall bhagawot statue.This makes this temple very look attractive.
Similarly pathibhara temple has become another tourist attraction in hetauda city.Pathibhara temple is one of the famous religious and tourist places located in ward no.1 bhsirava hills of hetauda city. Pathibhara temple located near hetauda is located amidst the beautiful greenary of bhairava hills. This pathibhara temple is about four kilometers away from buddha chowk the msin point of hetauda city. It is said that pathibhara temple was built that so that it would be very easy for everyone to have the visit of goddess pathibhara since not all devotees could reach the pathiphara temple in taplejung to have the visit of goddess pathibhara.They came to supernatural consciousness by the will of goddess panchakanya and pathibharab hagawoti who are in the form of nature.Therefore on the 22nd of chitra month of bikram sambat 2063 a stone,a trident and an urn were brought from the goddess’s place in taplejung as per the order of pathibhara goddess.Then on the 1st of the month of baisakh 2064 pathibhara goddess was established on bhairava hill.After the establishment of goddess pathibhara there is a tradition of regular worship ,fire offerings and recitation.Similarly is is known as the annual fire offerings ,worship and purification by sprinkle pure water are also being done as per her order.In bikram sambat 2063 on the 27th day of chaitra month goddess pathibhara who was in taplejung reached the bhairava hill in hetauda in a dream. After that she said that this place is suitable for me and you should make my adobe here to have my visit do a temple was built at that place.Accordingly the residents of hetauda reached bhairava hill at 12 midnight.It is said that after reaching there pathibhara goddess found the place she had seen in her dream and was able to land there.Hundreds of devotees from all over the country and abroad come to visit the pathibhara temple every day with the belief that all wishes will be fulfilled by visiting the goddess pathibhara in hetauda.The hindu pathibhara temple is visited by devotees especially during the navaratri of the month of chaitra and ashwin,on dasain,on saturdays and tuesday. Here animals sacrifices are not offered to goddess pathibhara but there is a tradition of offering animals sacrifices to her messengers.Although animals sacrifices are offered at the pathibhara temple in taplejung but animal sacrifices are not offered at this temple.Usually fruits are offered instead of animal sacrifices at this temple.The face of the temple which was established by bringing stones,a trident and an urn from taplejung as the idol of goddess pathibhara has changed.The goddess pathibhara temple in hetauda is made of a coppor roof.This pathibhara temple in hetauda city can be said to be a tourist attraction.
Another tourist attraction of hetauda city is the hetauda martyr memorial park.This martyr memorial park is very beautiful.It look very beautiful because it is located on the top of the hill.It is an indispensable tourist spot when visiting hetauda city.To go to the martyr memorial park you have to go about four kilometers west from buddha chowk the main point of hetauda city.After reaching about two kilometers west you will reach a village called mawalpur.Then from nawalpur village you have to climb two kilomeyers on the right mountain path.After climbing two kilometer on the mountain path we can easily reach the martyr memorial park.Hetauda martyr memorial park was established in bikram sambat 2051 in memory of the martyrs.It is said that this martyr memorial park was designed by students of nepal art campus.It costs 50 rupees per person to enter this martyr memorial park.As soon as you enter here if you go straight ahead you will see a beautiful flower garden.Inside that beautiful garden there is a beautifilul park where you can sit and relax on benches and enjoy the cool atmosphere.After going straight ahead inside that martyr memorial park a water fountain that looks like a waterfall has been made.The water fountain that looks like a waterfall will be powered by an electric motor. The fountain will be closed government holidays.After going a little further you can see the pictures of martyrs carved on 250 tons of stone.The martyrs were martyred for the democracy of nepal in the war against the rana regime and the panchayat regime.Then if you continue you will see a flower garden shaped like a rice field.This park is very beautiful because it is built on a steep slope.Thete is a suspension bridge on the left.To enter and cross the suspension bridge you have to pay 10 rupees.An electric gate is placed at the entrance of that bridge. To open that gate you have to pay 10 rupees and only then the gate opens. There is a system that opens the gate only after you pay 10 rupees and you drop a coin in the box.From that suspension bridge you can see a small zoo.
Hetauda martyr memorial park has a zoo to attract more tourists.In that zoo you can see monkeys,pigeons, vultures,rats,sloths,deer,turtles, crocodiles, ostriches etc.This zoo is located deep in the ground.As you walk around the zoo you will reach a place where you have already walk to the water fountain.As you walk around the park you will reach a place where there is a suspension bridge.After crossing that suspension bridge you can see the another park on the slope.In that park statues of manmohan adhikari ,bisheshwar prasad koirala, ganeshman singh,pushpalal shrestha etc.are placed.If you go right from that place you can see the picnic spot.You will go left from that place you can reach the place where the martyr column is.You have to climb the stairs to reach the place where the martyr column is.On the right side of the staircase there is a small tiffin house and on the left side you can see a park for children to play,a swimming pool etc.It gets more crowded during public holidays. To provide more entertainment to the tourists a sky cycle ride has been arranged in this park.It will cost Rs. 500 per person to ride the sky cycle. To attract more tourists to the hetauda martyr memorial park a zipline has also been arranged there. The charge for the entertainment on that zipline is Rs.200 per person.To attract tourists to hetauda nartyr memorial park a roller coaster zipline has recently been arranged in the park.It will cost Rs.500 per person to ride it.It is expected that many tourists will enter the hetauda martyr memorial park because of these games.In fact the hetauda martyr memorial park is very beautiful but it will be very difficult for those with weak physical condition to visit here. This park has many stairs so it will be difficult for weak people.In fact hetauda city is one of the most beautiful cities in nepal.This city has convenient hospitals.Similarly big colleges have also been established for education.This city is very popular city due to its big industries,hospitals,colleges and markets.
The other tourist attractions in hetauda city include a view tower.A view tower has also been built so that tourists can easily view hetauda city.A tower has been built on the top of bhairava hill in hetauda city.From the view tower in bhairava hill you can see beautiful view of the hetauda city,forest from the hills to the terai and the rapti river.You can reach that view tower while playing and enjoying in the beautiful lap of nature.You can use your own private vehicle and public transport to reach this view tower.Friends when you come to visit hetauda city you must also visit the forestry campus.There is a very important forest museum in hetauda forestry campus.When going to hetauda from the terai you can see the forestry campus on the left before reaching buddha chowk. The forestry campus is located in a beautiful and peaceful environment with in the forest.This forestry campus is surrounded by a large forests so it feels like you are in the forest.This campus falls under the forest institute under tribhuvan university.It prepares manpower to work in the forest sector by providing various training in the forest sector.It also provides education in natural resource management along with forestry.This forestry science institute has seperate branch campuses in pokhara and hetauda cities.This forestry science institute offers courses like technical certificate,postgraduate degree in forestry,science forestry etc.It cost Rs.10 per person to enter the forestry campus.In fact a group of 10-12 people include youth and children is required to enter this campus.Here information is given about all types of wood ,dead body of birds,wild animals and plants in nepal so that children can learn something.This campus remains open on days other then government holidays.Nepal’s first rope way route connected hetauda to kathmandu which can now be seen in a dilapidated state. 250 tons of goods were transported to kathmandu daily through that rope way route.Not only this limestone was transported to hetauda for cement production through that rope way route.On that rope way route food grains were transported from hetauda and limestone was transported from kathmandu.That rope way route is now closed.Friends what do you think about hetauda city information ?
